Homage to Milton Glaser

A Visual Interpretation of a Design Icon
Overview:
As part of a studio practice at Carnegie Mellon School of Design, I created a book spread dedicated to the legendary designer Milton Glaser. The project aimed to visually interpret Glaser’s body of work while honoring his lasting contributions to the field of design.
Challenge:
Capture the essence of Milton Glaser’s creative philosophy and iconic design style in a compelling and cohesive book spread.
Approach:
  • Research: Studied Glaser’s most influential works, such as the I ♥ NY logo and his expressive illustrations, to gain insights into his style and design principles.
  • Concept Development: Explored various layouts and typographic treatments to create a visual narrative that reflected Glaser’s artistic sensibilities.
  • Design Execution: Crafted a spread that balanced vibrant colors, bold typography, and thoughtful composition to pay homage to Glaser’s innovative approach.
Outcome:
The final book spread celebrated Milton Glaser’s legacy, showcasing a creative interpretation of his design ethos. The project received positive feedback for its engaging layout and thoughtful homage to a design icon.
