Fast Fashion Design Sprint
Exploring Sustainable Clothing Consumption Behaviors
Overview:
In 2019, I co-developed and co-led a two-hour design sprint workshop at Rice University, focusing on clothing consumption behaviors and the fast fashion industry's impact.
Challenge:
Raise awareness among participants, primarily unfamiliar with fast fashion, about its environmental, economic, and social implications.
Approach:
Participants developed prototype solutions to promote sustainable clothing practices on the university campus. These included ideas such as clothing swaps, awareness campaigns, and a platform to connect students with sustainable brands. The prototypes served as tangible starting points for future initiatives, showcasing the potential for design to drive behavioral and systemic change.
Acknowledgment: Special thanks to Jeric B. and Claire J.D. for their support as guest speakers.

Challenge:
Raise awareness among participants, primarily unfamiliar with fast fashion, about its environmental, economic, and social implications.
Approach:
- Research Synthesis: Investigated the fast fashion industry, categorizing findings into environmental, economic, and social impacts.
- Workshop Design: Structured the session to leverage the cascade effect of shifting consumer preferences, emphasizing local-level changes toward sustainable clothing supply chains.
- Interactive Engagement: Facilitated discussions and activities that encouraged participants to consider the consequences of their clothing choices and explore sustainable alternatives.
